Met Gala Beauty TREND FORECAST - Glowing Skin + Smoldering Eyes

Luminous glowing skin along with Smoldering (some more smokey than others ) was the common trend at last night at the Met Gala   'Manus x Machina'  : Fashion in the Age of Technology. Most look to the ensembles for delight and inspiration , but I love to look at the beauty trends of the night. I could not help but notice how the eyes were a real focal point on the face along the red carpet looks. I also noticed no one went for the typical "BLACK" -  instead there was shades of almost black / green hues , shades of browns with hints of gold , and glitter / shimmer and tons of silver.
Here are a few of my personal favorites .

Ciara gave us hints of silver to her eyes.

Beyonce's eyes were a not quite black but green hue.

Zendaya gave us Brown is the new Black with hints of Gold.

Kerry Washington's hue was very similar to Beyonce with a hint of metal.

Solange giving us pure Gold Glam on the eyes .

Lupita Nyong'o in a minty /silver hue .
On location  -  You can see some of my products are by Maybelline, Smashbox, Cargo , Viseart , Tarte, Mally Beauty , Stila , etc..

I was fortunate enough to do makeup for an Met Gala attendee yesterday , and ironically the look we went for was a smokey/ smoldering eye as well ( on trend )  with glowing skin to match.  I went for an metallic olive green shade on the lids by Tarte ( Amazonian Clay Cream Shadows - discontinued shade )  which I paired with some taupe in the crease by Smashbox ( Full Exposure Palette) ,  layered with some Gold for an extra shine  from LORAC Pro Palette. Maybelline Push Up Drama Mascara ( sold in Drugstores ) was the finishing touch.  The skin was prepped with my favorite Moisturizer Embryolisse Lait - Creme Concentre along with Smashbox Primer Water.  Tarte Clean Slate Brightening Primer was used before I applied Smashbox BB Water in Fair/Light to the skin.   Light warming of the face with Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Powder.  Light Highlighting with the new Pur Minerals Moonlight Glow Strobe Palette  in  Brows were filled in with Smashbox Brow Tech Matte Pencil  and then Gloss Stick was applied to set in place.   The lips was kept bare with simple lip balm.  Below you will see a BTS snapshot of the final look :

7 Nude Lip Liners Every Chocolate Girl Needs !

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Nude lips are really hot at the moment ( not that I can ever recall when it was ever not en vogue to wear a nude lip , but I digress) .  Especially shades of pinky mauve's , burgundy's and classic browns.  The problem for Women of Color  ( who fall in the deep/darker range) is that we want to recreate some of these shades but are using the wrong lip colors that are NOT giving us what we want.

Mauve  - For example , the highly coveted "Spice" pencil by MAC - would not read the same on Darker skintones as it would on our fair /med/tan  counterparts.  A great alternative to use instead for that rosy/mauve lip are my personal favorites -  1.  Smashbox Always Sharp Lip Liner in "FIGGY" ($20) , or 2. MAC  Burgundy Lip Liner ( $16.50).   I love wearing MAC's Burgundy with a nude lipstick such as "Bad Girl RiRi , and Smashbox's Figgy looks very pretty on its on as in addition to a lipstick of your choice.

Chocolate / Deep Brown  -  Sometimes you want a deeper brown lip that reads like a TRUE BROWN on you even though you are on the deeper skin range. I absolutely LOVE 3. Smashbox Always Sharp Lip Liner in "NUDE DARK" ($20).  This pencil can be used for a full dark lip ( I love this liner with Colourpop's Limbo  )  as a base , or to customize your favorite light Nude lipsticks ( looks amazing with ABH Pure Hollywood). 4. MAC Chesnut  Lip Liner  ($16.50) is another deeper brown lip liner alternative to consider giving a try. It is not as deep as Smashbox's Nude Dark, but it is Brown Girl friendly, and a must for your personal kit.

Skin tone -  These two browns are as close to true complexion as a liner can get.  When you want a liner, but you do not want it to overpower your lip color of choice. 5. MAC Cork Lip Liner ($16.50) is an amazing choice, this brown blends in with your complexion seamlessly without the obvious "I'm wearing a Lip Liner " look. 6. Smashbox Always Sharp Lip Liner in "SIENNA" ($20) is another nice alternative as well.

It would be ideal to have all six liners, but if you made sure to have at least one from each category - your makeup collection would be set ( when it comes to creating the Perfect Nude Lip).

*** UPDATE***

4/21
I happened to watch a video about High end vs  Low end makeup by Jackie Aina  ( you can view the video by clicking here ) and she used the Colourpop Taurus Pencil  ($5) -  Which is a perfect BUDGET Friendly addition to the list.  You can totally use this as a "Skin Tone" liner like Cork or Sienna and pair it with pinks , nudes, peaches.

Taurus by Colourpop

Taurus by Colourpop on the lips - its a beautiful brown liner.  I'm sold on it !

Product Shot for the Gram :)

I recently was able to try out to new items by Smashbox recently while testing out some makeup looks on some models earlier this month.  For skin,  I used the Smashbox BB Water and it is weightless , yet gives some coverage -  perfect for the Spring/Summer Months. What I've noticed with this product is that a little goes a long way and the skin is really left with a " I woke up like this / Flawless" appearance.  Setting the face with the Primer Water is a must for ultra luminous skin.

Next on the agenda is the new brow pencils.  The Brow Tech Matte and the Brow Tech Gloss Stick.  Again, a little goes a long way.  Just a few strokes of the pencils to fill in sparse areas and you are done.  I like to use the Gloss stick over the brows to tame the hairs kind of like "set them"  in place. I love the idea of a glossy pencil because it gives the brows a more "life -like" appearance.

Smashbox has done it again with making me a believer in the brand and I am exited to see what else is to come !

Get the Look : Atelier Versace Couture Spring 2016 Smokey Eye

Model Joan Smalls

We are no strangers to the "Smokey Eye" , yet Pat McGrath has managed to wow us again with an amazing variation over the weekend at the Atelier Versace Couture Spring 2016 show.  This time the eye look featured a nice metal / gloss finish while the smoke was blurred to perfection.  The skin was bare and flawless with a hint of luminosity , and the lips were subtle and nude -  the perfect way to tie the entire look together.

I thought it would be fun to put together a product list of items you could use to re-create this amazing look which you don't have to wait for Spring to wear.  This would be a great sexy Valentines Day look, or perfect to wear during Fashion Month.

Skin -  Smashbox BB Water

There you have it, the Versace Smokey Eye ... Keep an eye out on my Instagram , where I will be uploading a re-creation of this look very soon.

The Five Shades of Lipstick EVERY Darkskin Woman Should be Wearing This Summer

The temperatures are finally rising and Summer is quickly approaching.  There are five key shades that Women of Color  ( primarily my Dark Skin Honeys) need to have in their makeup collections.  I chose to address Darker tones , because a lot of the time some of us tend to think "oh I'm too dark to wear that" .  No my love,  you're not.  I'm not mentioning anything new , but just 5 shades you should have and if these were all you collected your collection would be complete

** DISCLAIMER : I did not list "Nudes" because I think having a Nude lipstick should be a given, so "Nudes" did not make the cut. **

RED
Wet n Wild Fergie Collection - Saraghina | Lancome L'Absolu Rouge -  160 Rouge Grande Amour | NARS Velvet Matte Pencil- Cruella | Mally Beauty Evercolor Satin Lipstick -  Warm Red | LORAC Breakthrough Performance Lipstick - Leading Lady | Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick x Donald Robertson -  BING | MAC Retro Matte Lipstick -  Ruby Woo
Red -  a very controversial color to wear.  Some "beauty publications" have made charts on the "proper shade of red for your skintone" - and Blue Based Vivid Reds are NEVER recommended for "US" . For someone with less knowledge / experience with Makeup - they would just follow said chart and never experiment.  Truth is ,  Dark women CAN wear bright Reds !  We do not have to be confined to Dark Reds with a Brown tint ( only if you choose to be of course) .  Mally Beauty Warm Red is a lovely Satin Finish ,  NARS Velvet Matte Pencil in Cruella is a amazing Matte Red , MAC Ruby Woo is a Cult Favorite blue based Red that is popular amongst many .  There is a confidence that a Red lip gives that is inexplicable , but if you do not own a vivid Red Lipstick , now is the time!

ORANGE
MAKE UP FOREVER Rouge Artist Intense -  #40 | Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss - 10 | Kat Von D  Studded Kiss Lipstick -  A go go | MAC Matte Lipstick Limited Edition - Dangerous ( will be re-releasing soon) | Tarte Cosmetics Aquallilies for Tarte glamazon pure performance 12-hour Lipstick - Timeless (limited edition /discontinued) | Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick by  Kate Moss - 110 | NARS AUDACIOUS Lipstick -  Lana |
Orange ( and some shades of Coral were thrown in ) is a color many women think they can not pull off.  Another Beauty Myth BUSTED!  Oranges are very pretty on US !  Again ,  some colors may require a lip liner - sometimes a red makes a nice contrast.  I love to pair  MAC Dangerous with a Red Lip Liner , as well as NARS Audacious Lana .  Shades like Kat Von D - A go go , I love to wear on its own - and its a Neon Orange !  It sounds risky , but the payoff is so worth it.  The best way to explain a Orange lip is - you don't want to be as "serious" or "directly sexy" with a Red , you want to be fun be just as direct and bold just not the same way with a Red .  Then opting for Orange is perfect -  like while on Holiday , a fun night out ,  daytime , etc....  ( Reds are appropriate those times too -  no rules !! ) .

PINK
Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick - Electric Pink | NARS AUDACIOUS Lipstick - Claudia | LORAC Alter Ego Lipstick - Showgirl | Tarte Cosmetics Glamazon Pure Performance 12-Hour Lipstick - Whimsy | MAC Matte Lipstick - Candy Yum Yum  | NARS Lipstick - Schiap

Pink is my favorite color so of course I would list that you need a shade of Pink.  Whether it be a Cool Pink like NARS Audacious Claudia or a bright bold like NARS Schiap or its budget friendly counterpart MAC Candy Yum-Yum , a Pink is necessary.  As long as paired with the appropriate liner ( when necessary )  ,  these colors do not disappoint.
FUCHSIA
NYX Cosmetics Matte Lipstick - Shocking Pink | Sephora Collection Rouge Cream Lipstick - R11 Love Test | Sleek MakeUP  True Colour Lipstick - Mystic | Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick - Fuchsia Flash Matte | MAC Retro Matte Lipstick  Flat out Fabulous

Some would say ,  "but isn't this like wearing a Pink?" - and the answer is No.  Shades of Fuchsia wear darker than a bright pink - although some colors above do look pink and are even named pink these colors are not true pinks.  Yes they are bright , but have plum /fuchsia undertones.  Fuchsia is perfect for when you want a bold bright lip  ( like Lupita at Cannes) , but you don't want to do Pink. Shades like MAC's Flat out Fabulous , and Sleek MakeUP's Mystic are MUSTS haves.
DEEP
Sephora Collection Rouge Cream Lipstick -  R24  (Discontinued) | MAC Matte Lipstick - Diva | Wet n Wild Mega Last Lips Color  - Cherry Bomb 918D  | MAC Cosmetics Limited Edition Lorde Lipstick - Pure Heroine (Discontinued) | NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil - Train Bleu
Deep shades whether it be shades of wines, purples, cranberries - tones that wear very dark but are not quite a full on black lip.  Most would say this is a Winter/Fall appropriate color but its quite sexy to spice things up in the summer with a dark Vampy lip. NARS'  Train Bleu is an amazing color if you have to choose one, and if you are on a budget Wet n Wild in Cherry Bomb is a great choice.  I don't like to follow "rules" anyway !

If this post can convince just 1 woman to take a chance and play with color and have fun , I know I've done my job !  You don't need these much lipsticks as I have pictured, but if you have at least 1 from each color category you will be set for having the "basics" !

Happy Thursday !

My two favorite Met Gala Makeup Looks : Get the Look Here

Two of my favorite beauty looks of the night were by two young starlets that I happen to personally love ,  Zendaya and Rihanna .  Both looks featured Nude lips , warm sultry eyes and a flush of color on the cheeks -  Rihanna had more of a flush than Zendaya.  Both looks were very minimal in the sense that it complimented the complex fashion looks without stealing the show. I thought it would be fun to put together some key products to use to re-create both looks ( as I don't know what was actually used on them but my suggestions are pretty spot on! ) .
Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Nylon Nude | Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian clay 12-hour blush in Captivating | Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay 12-hour full coverage foundation | Mally Beauty In the Buff 2 Eyeshadow Palette
Zendaya's makeup look was the perfect vision of "clean beauty" - nude lips , barely there blush and a hint of light on the eyes.  I love the shimmering nude shades in the In the Buff 2 palette by Mally Beauty, and it would be a great tool to use for this look.  The darker shades in the palette can be used in the crease and outer corners of the eye as Zendayas eyes demonstrate the hint of darker color.  Her skin has a flawless finish and Tarte's new Amazonian Clay Foundation is a great option as well as the Amazonian Clay 12-hour blush in a warm peach like the shade "Captivating". To finish off the look a nude lipstick is essential and the shade "Nylon Nude" by Smashbox Cosmetics looks almost identical to the shade Zendaya is wearing.

Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay Waterproof Pencil in Rich Brown | NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation | Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Angle Pure Pigment Gel Liner in Jet Black | Nars Limited Edition Christoper Kane Blush in Starscape | Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Latte Matte | Tarte Cosmetics Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette

Like Zendaya,  Rihanna also went for a clean look but Rihanna's look had a bolder approach from blunt straight brows to blush to her perfectly winged liner. Rihanna's eyebrows were in a straight shape and Tarte's Amazonian Clay Pencil in Rich Brown can be used to fill in the brow and the spooley end can be used to brush/blend in the color. Depending on your natural brow shape it may be easy to "fake" the straight brow or you will have to use makeup to cover your natural hairs to recreate this shape.  Rihannas skin always looks as if there is not any foundation "coverage" on there always a natural finish.  After recently trying out the NARS All day Luminous Weightless Foundation -  I think its the best bet to use.  Her eyes have neutral tones adorned with a blacker than black liner and the Tartelette Palette paired with the new Smashbox Gel liner would be great tools to recreate this eye look.  Rihanna's blush almost looks as if it was also used to "highlight" her face -  a trend I noticed some other women had (Jennifer lopez for example) .  Her blush was a soft bright pink and the new Limited Edition NARS Christoper Kane Blush in Starscape would be perfect.   Last but not least , the nude lip - a darker nude than Zendaya's lip and Smashbox Be Legendary in Latte Matte is a great option.

Hope you enjoyed my recommendations, and will decide to recreate them yourself!

My NYFW Instagram Beauty Diary - My list of breakout / beauty must haves !

NYFW sadly has come to an end. It was a fun week despite the cold, and snowy appearance of the city. One thing I did not fall short on was playing on different beauty trends.  From Natural ,  to Flirty , to Full on Grunge , Classic Red lip, to   Editorial Glam .  What I will say having to get ready quickly to make sure I got to my events / shows made me want to glam in as short a time as possible.  That is why I reached for my Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream in Dark  (ALWAYS applied with my damp Beauty Blender of course) for most of the days as my go to instead of a standard Foundation and I loved the results.  My other repeat product these past couple of days was my Lancome Grandiose Mascara -  which has become one of my new favorites in terms of Mascaras. There's something about the bending applicator that makes applying it so unique and special.  Below I have listed my other "Breakout Stars" of the past couple of days from my very different looks.  Enjoy !

DISCLAIMER : I did not re-touch any of these photos these are all raw footage taken with my iPhone 6

Day 1 : Feb 12  -  I went for a very BARE minimalist look.
Full frontal view of this look -  Click Here
Beauty Breakout Stars of  Day 1 :
Day 2 : Feb 13 -  Flirty with a Pop of color .

Beauty Breakout Stars of  Day 2 :

Day 3 : Feb 14  -  Grunge Smokey Glam ( very Editorial | Runway inspired)

Beauty Breakout Stars of Day 3

    Day 4 : Feb 15 -  Extreme Winged Liner
I think this was my look that was the most popular out of all days.
Beauty Breakout Stars of Day 4
Day 5 : Feb 16 - Bold Red Lip  ( I took this pic mid way walking towards Lincoln Center the image isn't the best quality)

Ultimate Girl Friend Gift Guide : Perfect Gifts for your Girl Friends this Holiday Season !

I love this time of year ( I'm a December Baby) , and its the time when everyone is releasing amazing limited edition items / gift sets.  I put together a list of some of my personal favorites that can easily be gifted to your besties ( they've been there for you all year ,  they deserve it!! ) .

For the Makeup Artist  -  BeautyBlender, BeautyBlender Micro Mini and the BeautyBlender Surface Pro .  She can never have enough tools and Beauty Blenders are literally "heaven in a sponge".  Now with the Micro Mini she can really achieve concealer perfection with the smaller size , and the surface pro allows her to not have to use her hand as a palette anymore ( although she most likely will) .  The Beauty Blender is the perfect stocking stuffer for everyone though , paired with some candy it would be a sweet treat .

For the Girlfriend of yours who has every popular palette already and USES them -  Smashbox Double Exposure Palette. This has taken the Full Exposure Palette to the next level with 14 shades that double to 28 with a wet brush.  It is a gift that keeps on giving its two palettes in one.  Definitely perfect for someone who will make full use of the colors ( not for the makeup novices).

For the "Diva" -  If she is anything like all fabulous Diva's that came before her, she loves to "stand out" .  She will most definitely do that with some "sparkle" ( who doesn't like to "shine bright like a diamond" ??) that she can add to her Holiday looks.  I LOVE LORAC Royal 3D Liquid Lustre Set and the Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eyeshadow  ( Kitten is my current fav color).  These two products are not only not like anything else out there , but completely fool proof in adding that "glitter look" - you can use your fingers to apply. The LORAC set is a steal at $28!!  I think its actually a MUST to gift to yourself too!  They look amazing on the skin alone, but your "Diva"Girl Friend will most likely layer it on over other shadows to give that "WOW" effect that is perfect for New Years Eve , Birthdays,  Anniversaries , or if shes over the top -  Everyday!

For the Lipstick / Lipgloss lover -  The girl who is always about her lippy.  Never leaves home without 2 , 3 , maybe 5 colors in her makeup bag.  LORAC Lip Lustre Creme Set is so cute and sure to be a hit. This set includes , nudes pinks and berry tones - colors everyone should have in their arsenal.   I also am gagging over the Too Faced Melted Liquifed Long Wear Lipstick ( in all the shades). I love the pigment, texture and the lasting "stained" finish.  We all have that friend that is always checking in the mirror to see if her lipstick / lipgloss is in tact -  these options are perfect for her.

For the jet-setter -  Your friend who is always going off on a fabulous getaway. She would love the Tarte Bon Voyage Collector's Set and Travel Bag . Perfect set to take on a Holiday weekend , all the items are TSA safe at the perfect size and the super luxe Travel Bag can fit all of her other essentials. Tarte really came with it this season.  This set is sold out online but you may find it in Sephora Stores.

There you have it ! Happy Shopping Ladies !!

Makeup Essentials : Look Flawless like you "Woke up Like This" with these key items .

Image : Instagram

I thought it would be fun to post about Today's Essentials -  the key items that pull my  MOTD  ( Makeup of the Day) together.  Below you will find a detailed breakdown of some of my favorite items and why I love them and why you will too!  For todays complete makeup look on my Instagram  ( which includes a few more products  like   Lancome  - the amazing Le Corrector Pro Concealer and others   Click Here and Here

  1. Skindinavia Makeup Primer Spray ( $35/ $49 ) - Skindinavia is the Royal Family of Face Setting Sprays , so of course it would be only natural for them to release the first ever Primer Spray.  I absolutely LOVE this spray.  I tend to get oily around the T-Zone so I use the Oil-Free option , and I honestly don't need to even use Moisturizer when I use this.  It is super moisturizing without having me look like a oil - slick.  This is a must for all , and it is so worth the money .
  2. Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Matte Anti Shine -  Although my primer is Oil Free I still want to go for a super Matte non dewy appearance , so this is where this comes into play. Unfortunately this is discontinued ( so I will be using this sparingly) .  I love applying this specifically to my T-Zone after prepping my face -  it really creates a nice Matte foundation for me to build on.
  3. Smashbox Cosmetics Camera Ready BB Cream in Dark ( $39)  -  Being a woman of Color it is VERY hard to get a perfect match in general, and this has been the only BB Cream so far that is a perfect match.  I can use a bit more for full coverage and it feels weightless as if I have nothing on. Perfect for everyday or when you want to give that "bare naked skin" appearance ( Think -  Beyonce Jealous Video).
  4.  Wet n Wild Color Icon Brow Pencil in Mink Brown ( $1.49 ) -  This pencil is amazing quality , just as good or not better than some higher end Brow pencils.  The darker shade of Brown that Mink Brown gives is perfect for the Fall Winter season where you want to go BOLDER with the eyebrows.
  5. CoverGirl Queen Collection Natural Hue Bronzer in Ebony Bronze ( $6.99) - There has been a lot of "hype" about this Bronzer from Youtube , to Makeup Artists, you name it , its been mentioned there.  I only recently decided to give this a try and  I am SOOOOOO  happy I did.  This Bronzer is perfect for contouring,  its perfect for using as a hint of blush , it gives us Dark Skinned Gals a beautiful flush of color.  Its an absolute must for all Dark Skinned women!

There you have it my Makeup Essentials !!!

Naked . Flawless . Skin . How to achieve a Barely There Face Inspired by Beyonce's "Ghost" Video

One of my favorite looks from Beyonce's visual album is the barely there naked makeup look in the Ghost video.  This "natural" look entails more than what meets the eye , luckily for you I've provided a detailed step by step process with product suggestions on creating this look which I like to call : Naked. Flawless. Skin.

You need to have a good skincare regimen ... or begin one.
A quick cost-friendly "pick me up" is Biore Self Heating One Minute Mask . Infused with natural charcoal, this thermal mask opens pores and draws out dirt. It finishes with a cooling sensation for tingly-smooth skin in just one minute.  You can also follow with the Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser throughout the week .
For your nighttime routine "not so cost friendly but WORTH every penny" .  I like the use of Tarte Pure  Maracuja Oil along with the C- Brighter eye treatment.  You will see the difference in your skin as well as your eye area with continued use , and because the formulas are so potent a little goes a LONG way.  For your daytime routine, I suggest Josie Maran Pure Argan Milk or the 100% Pure Argan Oil or 100% Pure Argan Oil light ( if you want a lighter feel) . Your skin will be be beyond hydrated and you can begin your "Ghost" inspired look .

Weightless Liquid High Definition Foundation
We're just going for the Naked look, but we are not taking it literal...  So a liquid coverage is the BEST way to go.  Just blends into the skin and you wont have the Matte powder "made up" look.  You want a "smooth glow" .. I really like  Urban Decay's Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Makeup , and Smashbox Liquid Halo HD Foundation are my two suggestions. Both provide full coverage, really feel weightless , and your skin really will look great in photos as well as in person. Both provides great shades for Darker tones too -
plus!

Glossy Lids
Beyonce has been know to sport this for years now, but this is a old trick done by all of the Pro's .  You can use Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream alone on the lids or over a shadow ( other looks) and since the lids have powder as a base its very easy to remove.  A little goes a LONG way. For the Naked look , I would say add a little bit on just the middle of the lids and you can use a very sublte bronze / light brown shadow as a base .  Another trick is to use just a clear gloss (one that is not too thick or sticky) on the lids . A good recommendation is Josie Maran High Gloss Lip Quench. ** You can fill in your brows sparingly with a brown pencil , followed by a sweep of brow gel over the brows**

Dark Defined Lashes
Since everything is toned down, your lashes really take the lead. You really don't need to apply false lashes, but you NEED a good mascara.  Mally Beauty Instant Impact Duo magnifies the lashes , without adding volume and "clump" giving the lashes a lightweight feeling -  exactly what you're going for. You will not be applying to the bottom lash line ( although I LOVE to do that - , just not for this look) .

Highlight the Eyes
My favorite part of this look is the lower lash line.  I love how the eyes are illuminated , yet in a subtle way. You can achieve this with Mally Beauty Lightwand Eye Brightener.  You can also highlight the inner rims of the eyes with the sponge applicator side of the wand.  This works wonders !

Natural Flushed Cheeks
A hint of color is all you need. You definitely need a cream blush/ cheek tint texture.  I really like Tarte Cheek Stain and Josie Maran Argan Color Stick as choices for the cheeks.

Barely There Lips
A nude glossy lip is key.  Mally Beauty High Shine Liquid Lipstick Pen in "Deep Nude" , "Natural Nude" or "Light Nude" -  depending on your complexion / your preference.

There you have it,  a detailed step by step breakdown on how to achieve this flawless look,  enjoy!!

Fall Beauty Blueprint !

Happy first week of Fall !!!  I wanted to map out some fabulous products which are perfect for this season.

Luminous Complexion with Flushed Cheeks
Now that the climate is colder its detrimental to your skin to use products that are hydrating as our skin tends to get dryer as the temperatures drop.

Deep Berry Lips in Matte or a Gloss Stain
RiRi Loves MAC in "Talk that Talk"
Rimmel London Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss in "107" and "111"
Mally Beauty Melted Lipstick Duo in "Mulberry/Pink" and "Punch/Mauve"
Its all about deeper hues on the lips , and I love the idea of still wearing a deeper pink like the shades in the Melted Lipstick Duo sets.

Neutral Eyes with Statement Winged Liner
Mally Beauty In the Buff 11 Piece Eyeshadow Palette
Rimmel Glam'Eyes Professional Liquid Liner in "Black Glamour"
Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Gel Eyeliner in "Blackest Black"
Below is a shot of the gel liner , it goes on with precision , and it is truly the "Blackest Black" , I kept the eyelid nude and focused on liner.

Statement Fall Nails : Nudes, Browns, Wines , Violet
Nails Inc Autumn Winter 2013 Collection : "St. Martins Lane, Old Bond Street, Regent Street, Oxford Street, George Street, Kensington Place"
I absolutely love this collection , check out "Old Bond Street" on my nails below :

We can't forget about taking care of our skin before and after our makeup application ...

I love the Burt's Bees Aloe and Witch Hazel Hand Sanitizer , I don't think I'll ever go back to the gel form anymore which I usually kept on hand near my makeup station.  I love using this spray while prepping for the day, it is refreshing and it is 100% natural.  Perfect for quick cleansing of the hands before applying makeup , contacts, etc..  Its the perfect size to just toss in your handbag.
The Biore Line is near and dear to me ,  I love these products which are cost friendly. Cleansers:
The Deep Cleansing Steam Activated Cleanser as well as the Complexion Clearing Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser are going to be on rotation. Alternating between the week between the two cleansers. The Blemish Treatment Astringent is great in the mornings and at night after cleansing your face.  It really does clear up your complexion.  Now that the fall season is here, I am incorporating this in my daily regimen again.  Once a week ( or sometimes twice - we've all been there)  ,  a mask ( or masque)  is key my suggestions  are the  Double Detox™ Amazonian clay exfoliating facial mask by Tarte Cosmetics.  My t- zone area tends to be the epicenter of blackheads unfortunately, and I refuse to walk around looking like a acne "before" picture. This brings us to my second recommendation -  Joey New York Bye Bye Blackheads.

I hope you enjoyed this beauty blueprint as much as I enjoyed putting it together.  Happy Friday!
