Pop Of Color Launch Party with RHONY's Kristen Taekman at Rickys NYC

Last night I had the pleasure to attend the Pop of Color by Kristen Taekman ( Mother,  Model,  Real Housewives of New York, lets not forget Pretty !) at one of my favorite places here in the city Rickys NYC SoHo .

It was a great time ,  with  Champagne,  small treats , and best of all Manicures by Celebrity Manicurist Pattie Yankee .  I was so happy to attend , because I met Pattie years ago during a past Fashion Week and I was looking forward to some one on one time to discuss nails and trends with her again.  I wanted something Bright and Fun perfect to kick off the Summer Season ( as Memorial Day represents - the unofficial start to Summer) , and nothing says that better than a Uber bright orange - EBOOST ORANGE .

Kristen was the perfect host she mingled with everyone . She happened to walk over during my Manicure , and I personally thanked her for having bright shades in the collection.  I also made sure I got a close up shot of her amazing nails in BLUEMOON.  I almost chose this color but at the last minute opted for EBOOST ,  BLUEMOON will be my next color choice from the collection.  

BLUEMOON looks so good !  I also love Kristen's fun jewelry !  

We even took a group shot with the lady of the hour Kristen Taekman herself , and it made it to PoP of Colors  Instagram page.

Summer Must Have ... Zoya Pixie Dust and more !

Patriotic Chic without breaking the bank : All the tools you need for 4th of July ( $25 or less !! )

The most PATRIOTIC day of the year .... The Fourth of July !  This year I say keep it minimal yet fabulous with these key products. This is a chic approach , which is being a subtle patriot , not "cheesy" with literal stars and stripes like the masses.

Eyes -  dab a bit of Lightwand Eye Brightener | Mally Beauty ($25) in the inner corners of the eyes (with the sponge applicator) , also line the bottom waterline as well.  This will give your eyes a VERY bright luminous appearance, and no one would know whether you've missed any sleep or not. You could complete the look with Mascara , but thats about it -  we're keeping things very minimal - less is more.

Lips - no other color would be appropriate than RED!! Make a bold statement ( yes I am saying Bold although I made claims to this look being minimal) with a shiny, cherry red lip.  My choice for this look is Reflection High Shine Lipgloss in "Firecracker" ( isn't the name perfect for the occasion? -)  | Smashbox Cosmetics ($19) .  You can NEVER go wrong with a sexy red lip!

Nails - your hands are one of the most looked at parts on your body -  believe it or not!  Stand out against the crowd with blue shimmering textured nails.  Pixie Dust in "Liberty" ( yet another ironic name) | Zoya  ($9) is a conversation starter !  I've had this on my nails as well ( see above photo) , and its just pure nail bliss !!! This is currently one of my favorite Pixie Dust shades, and it will be yours too!

Emerald City : My favorite picks for the Pantone Color of the Year

Mally Beauty City Chick Smokey Eye Kit in "Central Park" and Tarte Cosmetics skinny smolderEYES™ Amazonian clay waterproof liner in "Emerald" was used in the eyelooks above. 

Emerald : The official color of 2013 as declared by Pantone. Since January, I have been looking for beauty items to incorporate in my beauty regime. A BIG fan of Mally Beauty,Tarte Cosmetics and ZOYA Nail Lacquer so it was only natural that I would choose favorites from these brands.
For eyes : I did one look solely in Tarte Cosmetics skinny smolderEYES™ Amazonian clay waterproof liner in "Emerald"  ( pictured , bottom left) , and I just love the texture and high pigment of this pencil.  If you are not big on the whole eyeshadow application process, this pencil is all YOU NEED! I really love how the green pops!  An added bonus,  in my makeup exploits, I have discovered that the Amazonian Clay waterproof eyeliner in "Brown" works GREAT on the brows - ( pictured, in all the photos above - currently discontinued , but the best possible match is the skinny smolderEYES in "Moonstone Brown" or the Amazonian Clay Waterproof liner with double-ended brush - you have to be a bit advanced in the Brow Department to maneuver this brush to create a Brow - its not hard to become a Pro !) .  I am just not sure if that shade is still available , I hope so ! My full on EMERALD EYE in all of the pictures above minus the close up eye shot , is a mix-up of brands and greens  I used Mally Beauty City Chick Smokey Eye Kit in "Central Park" on the entire eyelid ( all components of the kit - base, lid, highlight and crease) , and topped it off with the skinny smolderEYES in jade around the eyes ( upper and lower lash line - with a bit of smudging with the sponge tip). I made a trip to Sephora the day I wore this look , and I got so much compliments in store and just throughout the entire day.  This is the perfect pairing of Emerald Green shades and it really compliments dark skin ( as I am in the darker skin range).  You can finish the eye look with Mally Beauty Ginormous Mascara in "Black" - it really gives the appearance of  falsies ( as you can see in the pictures above).  Another honorable mention for this look -  Tarte Cosmetics BB tinted treatment 12-hour primer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen , it gives a flawless light finish to the skin.

Zoya Nail Lacquer in LOGAN

For Nails:  Zoya Nail Lacquer in "LOGAN" , part of the Holiday 2012 Collection, this electric, sparkly , metallic green shade is just fun! Worn alone or as a top coat on another shade there is a lot of possibilities for this color!

These are my current "Emerald" favorites, but its only the third month in the year, so I will be adding more to the list!

Beyonce inspired nails with NCLA "Im With The Band"

Ever since the Presidential Inauguration last month , I was OBSESSED with that pop of orange color on Beyonce's nails.  Her nails stood out as much as her striking beauty and fabulous Lorraine Schwartz Emerald Jewels ( The Emerald / Orange - Coral-ish contrast was superb) !  I was on the hunt to find this EXACT color.  Then I found out it was "Im With The Band" by NCLA  ($16) -  a high end line of 5 Free polishes as well as supercute nail coverings.  I recently painted my nails in the now famous shade and I could not stop admiring my nails.  I really am loving this line of polishes , and although this is my first color , I am ready to try the rest of the collection !!!!

In the middle of working .. Felt "inspired" to snap a pic of my nails . Although we are two completely different complexions, the color looks amazing on all shades!  Universally fabulous! 

Seductive Winter Wonderland on your Fingertips

One of my favorite nail lacquer brands Mattese Elite released a collection titled " Seductive Winter Wonderland" . These colors are great alone, but my suggestion is pairing the glitter over the metallics.. My suggestions are :

• "Uninhibited" as a base coat with "Seduction" over it as the glitter top coat. 
• "Temptation" as a base coat with "Mysterious" over it as the glitter top coat.

Don't forget that a base and top coat is an absolute MUST in addition to the colors listed above.
