First the trend was lining the lower rim / inner rim of our eyes with a bright unexpected color. Now, there is a resurgence of colored mascaras. My new favorite is the Maybelline New York Great Lash Mascaras in six Limited Edition ($6.40 / Drugstores) shades ( only available for the month of August) .
The shades are as follows : Green With Envy, I See Blue, So Very Berry, Teal Appeal, Vision in Violent, Wink of Pink
Wink of Pink, ( pictured, above) is so pretty! Adds a subtle shot of color to my nude lip ( Smashbox Cosmetics Be Legendary Lipstick in Latte Matte $20).
Teal Appeal, (pictured, above - on the right you hardly see the color, but it is more present on the left photo) was also very fun to wear paired with a vibrant pink lip ( Smashbox Cosmetics Be Legendary Lipstick in Fuchsia Flash Matte $20)
At this steal of a price - you can afford the whole collection of shades for the price of other colored luxury Mascaras. Not because I am reviewing this limited edition collection , BUT it really is quality color that lasts throughout the day. Although I only used the color on the lower lids they can be used on the top lash lines or only on the tips of the lashes as a ombre-effect. The possibilities are endless with these colors. I am secretly hoping that this collection becomes a staple in the Maybelline line! Crossing my fingers it will! Please extend this collection - and add more colors !!!
