The Nalu Waver : Tech - Age Answer To Achieving The Perfect Wave.

I have posted time and time again about creating, achieving , maintaining the perfect wave (beach) style. From sprays, gels, to flat irons to curling irons, holding the irons in certain directions, etc.. - I've suggested it all.

Now, there's this invention only from the Style Gods above by way of Rsession Tools called the Nalu Waver . The Nalu Waver ( Nalu is the Hawaiian word for wave) , has two barrels which allow the stylist to weave the hair through them to create waves. This iron also creates pretty ringlets as well, given the double barrel body, there is a infinite possibility of wave/curl styles that can be formed with this iron. This is also perfect for people with very straight hair that want to "fake" the naturally "textured" look. It really will not look like you just used an iron to achieve it.

I used this iron on my hair over the weekend, and I was very pleased with the results. I will admit that this type of iron is not for a novice to styling, but it is more than worth the money.

Backstage Access : Hayden Harnett Spring 2010

Last week Thursday I was able to get a sneak peak at the Tarte Team perform magic at the Hayden Harnett Spring 2010 Fashion Presentation The Gabarron Foundation Carriage House Center for the Arts.

Hayden-Harnett's collection was inspired by a nomadic journey through lava fields and desert landscapes. This inspired the look to have an emphasis on brows - Strong and Dark , paired with soft nude lips , and the eye make up was somewhere in between the two extremes.

The star product behind the show has got to be the new emphasEYES for brows high definition pencil (medium) . - I suggest this be added to your beauty - shopping list.

Q&A with The Ultimate Girly - Girl ... Mally Roncal

Celebrity Make Up Artist / Beauty Authority Mally Roncal ( I really admire her!!) answers a few of my questions .. enjoy !!

What is your autumn/winter Beauty trend forecast ?

Mally Roncal : This Fall is all about being bold. Smoky, matte purple and teal eyes will be very popular – keeping the lip neutral with a clean, nude lipstick or gloss. I recommend simply applying a little bit of foundation over lip gloss for a truly natural look. Contoured cheeks will be back in trend as well, framing the smoky eye perfectly. If you aren’t a fan of heavy eye makeup, bright and bold reds and berry colors on the lips will keep you looking trendy.

Although you have the uber fabulous Mally beauty line, if there was a brand/product out there that you absolutely love, what is it? and why?

MR : I am truly the girliest girl you’ll find out there. I love love love fun, effective products. Currently, my favorite products include Frederic Fekkai’s Shea Butter Crème Luxueuse, my T3 Hair Dryer, Dr. Brandt Lineless Infiinite Moisturizer, Crème de la Mer Cleansing Foam and Paul Labrecque Volume Finish. I also use Q-Tips for EVERYTHING!

What are your tips for us darker-skinned gals in regards to finding the perfect bronzer? ( something I personally find very hard, so I would love your feedback)

MR : Don't go for anything too sparkly. I designed a great bronzer for darker skinned gals - Bronze Genius in Bronze. I've also had a lot of luck using powder foundation two shades darker than the skin tone as a bronzer.

What are your secrets to looking fabulous despite your extremely busy work schedule as well as your most important role - as a mom ?

MR : Two to three sets of lashes (it's become a routine), a couple coats of mascara, fabulous gloss and go!

Although you're a Makeup Maverick, I really admire your hair as well. What's your routine?? What do you predict will be the fall trend for hair ?

MR : In my daily life, it's all about a ponytail. When I'm working, I let it air dry at night - no blow drying - and the next day I curl with a large barrel curling iron and spray with Frederic Fekkai sheer hold hair spray. I also have a secret... Caruso steam rollers! I bought them on an infomercial years ago. They curl the hair with steam, which keeps it healthy.
