Get "The Ariana Look" this Labor Day Weekend!

Ariana Grande's signature look is without a doubt her ponytail.  She's also added headbands to the roster and I certainly am not mad at it.  It plays on the "mod vibe" she's giving.  Here are a few tools of the trade ( all that can be found at local stores and online retailers  - Sallysbeauty,  CVS , Rite Aid, Walgreens, Target , Amazon, etc. ) that can keep you chic , and keep you cool ( while working out) .  I think this would be a perfect "go to look" this long weekend when you may not feel like having to "deal " with your hair.

1.  Conair Perfect Pony - This kit is suitable to all hair types from fine to thick .

2. Conair Infiniti Pro Argan Oil Treatment Strip Finishing Brush - Moisturizes Strands by depositing Argan Oil on your locks as you brush.  Finally we can reap rewards as we tease tease tease our pony to perfection. ** Bonus** If you want a sleeker Pony ,  using John Frieda Styling Tools by Conair Satin Finish Flat Iron to smooth ends and make it pin straight

  .

3. Scunci Effortless Beauty Headbands - I love these.. I think you should have multiple sets . One set for home use only -  While applying makeup / facial treatments , to fully keep strands away from the face. The second for pure style ( a la Ariana) .  I love the Monochrome shades especially , and I would stock up on a ton for the fall.
**Bonus** When you've grown tired of the "Ariana" you can pin your pony into a cute top knot using Scunci No Slip Grip All Day Hold Bobby Pins  paired with a Black Headband .  You can thank me later.

4. Scunci Everyday & Active Luxe Basic Stretch Headbands -  LOVE ..  Perfect for when you want to work out , but still want to look cute ( but not overly cute , because it IS the gym.) .  For ladies with Natural Hair like me,  I love wearing some sort of headband especially when I've straightened my hair -  it helps keeps the roots straight  ( don't know how it does, but it works!) .  **Bonus** Blow wet roots dry with John Frieda Styling Tools by Conair Salon Shine Dryer  using the Conair Inifiti Pro Paddle Brush. Finishing off with One 'n Only Brazilian Tech Keratin De-Frizz Wand  ( Natural Hair Girls!!!) to keep the hairline sleek .  Then add some texture to the ends with the Nano Titanium wand by BabyLiss PRO. You could also braid your pony at night or while working out, pass the dryer over it a little bit before unbraiding it ( after you've gotten dressed for the evening and your makeup is done) - voila! you have beach waves.

Have a Lovely Holiday !

Selena Gomez MTV VMA Hair - Recreate the Look !

Selena Gomez looked all grown up in her tasteful yet daring Versace number last night for the MTV VMA Awards.  She paired her Versace with chic Sleek Straight hair styled by Lona Vigi for John Frieda Hair Care.

To recreate this look, follow these steps from Lona using products from John Frieda Frizz-Ease

  1. To begin, Lona combined John Frieda Frizz-Ease Hair Serum Original Formula ($9.99 at  drugstores) with Straight Fixation Smoothing Crème ($6.99 at drugstores) to wet hair. This cocktail gave Selena’s hair a silky smooth straight look that not only kept frizz at bay throughout the long night, but also helped to impart a shine that lasts.
  2. Using the Harry Josh Pro Tools Pro Dryer 2000, Lona blew Selena’s hair out straight as the base for her style. Lona recommends to flip the hair over and concentrate on drying at the root in order to keep the look from falling.
  3. Sectioning off the hair, Lona then blew each section dry, with an Ibiza round brush to create a little body.
  4. After the hair is completely dry, John Frieda’s Frizz-Ease Secret Weapon Flawless Finishing Crème ($6.99 at drugstores) was applied to create a silky, shiny finish.
  5. Lastly, Lona’s trick for any strays and long-lasting finish – Using the John Frieda Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hairspray ($5.99 at drugstores), spray a small amount on an clean mascara wand and glide over the front sections that frame the face and comb the hair outwards along your part. This is a great trick to rid your look of any stray or fly away hairs.

Rocker Princess Hair at Rodarte Fall Winter 2013 Fashion Show

RODARTE – FALL 2013

THE STYLIST:
Odile Gilbert

THE LOOK:
Rocker princess with a cool, “undone” texture

HOW TO:
•         Before drying the hair, Odile applied dollops of Frizz-Ease Curl Reviver Styling Mousse were applied to build texture while ensuring a smooth finish.

•         After hair was blow-dried, a 2-inch iron was used to create loose bends. Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Hairspray was lightly misted over each section before it was wrapped around the iron to lock the waves in place.

•         Next, the waves were brushed out to make the texture look more natural, and braids on both sides were connected in the back of the head with a rose made of the models’ own hair.

•         To finish the look, a dime size of the Frizz-Ease Hair Serum Thermal Protection Formula was smoothed over random ends to make sure the overall effect was “undone” with a little polish.

*A barb wire headband was worn by some models

All the products listed can be purchased on The John Frieda Website as well as local retailers.
