The buzz started last year when Katy Perry (who's no stranger to colored extensions, wigs, etc..) unveiled Multi-colored highlights at the 2010 MTV VMA's  , and then we saw Jordin Sparks with Red-Tipped hair , which sparked the question " Hot or Not" all over the Internet. The must buzzed about rainbow-haired head is that of Lauren "LC" Conrad, with her tie-dye effect ends in blue, turquoise and pink.  Which she unveiled last week on her website.

You might want to re-create this look but : 1- scared about the damage that permanent color will cause , 2- not sure if you want to make this type of commitment, 3- you just don't want to pay the $$$ for a professional colorist to apply the tie-dye effect ( I would suggest NOT trying to color at home).  The solution is simple : clip in colored pieces. Put on Pieces Clip-In Color Strips ($8 each: extensions.com) are a great option.

POP Hair Color Pieces

At an uber affordable $8 price point, these single pieces of bright colored hair comes in a 16 inch length and are available in six fun fantasy colors - Amethyst, Blue, Gold, Pink, Purple and Red .  I suggest buying all six and play with the different color combinations you can create, or just use them all at once!!  If you want the tie-dye'd ends like LC, I would suggest applying the colored pieces only along the lower layers of the head, or if you want all over splashes of color like Katy , apply the pieces all over.

Check out extensions.com for more information on Put On Pieces Clip-In Color Strips.
