Suri does not have to be the only Posh tot around !!!

shoe -
Pronunciation: \shü\
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English shoo, from Old English scōh; akin to Old High German scuoh shoe
Date: before 12th century
1 a : an outer covering for the human foot typically having a thick or stiff sole with an attached heel and an upper part of lighter material (as leather)

Spring time is near , and the lil tot's need a new pair of baby shoes !!!! So not every kiddie Ages 6 and under has the authority or the access to a pair of made for tots louboutin-esque mini heels, but I just love the classic styles from our childhood past. Whether its Red, Pink, Purple,Blue, Brown, Black or White , Patent, Leather or Suede .. There is a nostalgia when I look at these shoes - back to when I was in grade school , when everything was so simple , sigghhhh. I would wear the leather styles to school, and the patent versions for special occasions / birthdays . Oh how I miss the days when children were dressed like.... Children! Think "Sound of Music",  "Mary Poppins" ( I LOVE that movie! ), or for a modern -Day version of classic kiddie-chic tots, take the Lee-Simmons girls . I LOVE the fact that they actually dress like children. Suri is on the list as well, although she is a bit Avant -Garde with her Fashions / shoe choices.  With the upcoming birth of mini-posh Spice , I'm sure that baby will be in only the most stylish baby clothes/ shoes .. I know somewhere between the one of a kind threads, baby Posh will have a classic pair like the ones above.
Happy Kiddie-Chic Shoe Shopping !!

Haute Couture Nails With Opi Shatter Top Coat

OPI Silver Shatter Top Coat and Black Shatter Top Coat over Essie Cosmetics Nails Lacquer in Lilacism and Van D'Go

OPI Black Shatter Top Coat
"The Original"

OPI Blue Shatter Top Coat

OPT Red Shatter Top Coat

OPI Silver Shatter Top Coat

OPI White Shatter Top Coat

It all started with the OPI Black Shatter Top Coat ( pictured, above) - this nail couture in a bottle caused a frenzy.  This amazing innovation where the Black Top Coat dries in a crackled, shattered glass effect on the nails , was the most wanted item in all over the country and web.  A staple at Rickys NYC stores - this amazing nail effect has sold out and come back into stock in stores and online.  Although I am a bit late, I wanted to put this Shatter top coat to the test  - to see if it is as amazing as everyone claimed it to be.... It is!!! Theres something cosmic about the way the top coat dries into this cool effect, and at first I was not too keen on the Silver Shatter Top Coat ( Thank the Beauty Gods that OPI has added more shades to this top coat including : Silver, White, Blue, and Red) being paired on a light shade - I was going to suggest using a dark nail color.  Ironically, I love it..I feel like its a subtle surprise once you look closely at my nails - I am excited to see how the silver will pair with a dark hue though.  There is an edgy feeling to this effect, yet there is something very feminine and pretty about it as well - depending on the colors you use as a base coat.  The lighter the shade ( pales, pastels, etc..) - is more girly/edgy, and I like neon base shades for a more rocker / punk look. If you have not joined the Nail Couture Elite yet and have gotten "Shatter-ized" you need to stop by your nearest Rickys NYC store or go online to pick up the OPI Shatter Top Coats!

Best in Hair from the 2011 Met Costume Institute Gala

Rihanna, Beyoncé, Emma Roberts and Gisele Bunchen in my opinion had the BEST hair looks when it came to the 2011 Met Costume Institute Gala ( in my opinion at least). Below you will find my detailed instructions as to how to re-create these stellar looks from the most important night in Fashion - which was celebrating Alexander McQueen this year ( Gisele Bundchen wore the late designer). Rihanna in Stella McCartney

Rihanna opted for a long braided style which featured two adjacent braids which met and became one Rapunzel-length braid. Known for being a risk-taker, this style was a risk well taken, and a very unexpected pairing for the hand-crafted lace nude illusion gown. This style can be easily re-created with the help of hair extensions ( in case you don't have waist-length hair , most of us don't ) . I would recommend using the 25" Layered Straight hair piece by Hairdo® , begin braiding one side , and hold it with a hair clip ( which will later be removed) then start to braid the alternate side. Take both sides and continue the long braid an use a very thin elastic the color of the hair ( so that it is transparent)  you are using to secure the end of the braid.

Beyoncé in Emilio Pucci

With a dress that was high in drama ( it was reported that the songstress could barely walk without assistance), the hair was taking a classic statement and serving as an accessory to the beautiful piece of couture. Mostly spotted in long flowing waves or sleek straight locks,  the night of the 2011 Met Costume Institute Gala Beyoncé wore her hair in a simple chignon with a part in the middle . It was a beautiful compliment to her dress.  You can channel your inner Beyoncé with this same style using the Hairdo® Braided Chignon : Just part your hair down the middle, make sure it is smooth and sleek, secure your hair in a ponytail with an elastic, then apply the Braided Chignon , and you're done !

Emma Roberts in Michael Kors

The young Hollywood Starlet looked all the part with this white dress and silver screen siren curls ( very 40's). It was a nice approach for the dress, yet Emma still manages to look her age.  This look is very easy to create - with many options .  Option 1: the use of thermal rollers and once removing them, hold the curls in place by pinning the hair in multiple sections. Once set, remove the pins and lightly brush the curls out. Option 2: you could use hair that is already curled ( this option is best if your hair is not as long, and also if you don't want to use too much heat styling tools on your hair.) - the 18” Clip-in Wavy Extension by hairdo® is a great option.  You can like in option 1 , still pin curl the already wavy sections along with the pieces of your natural hair that's left out ,and continue like in option 1 to complete the style.

Gisele Bundchen in Alexander McQueen

Red hot in Alexander McQueen , Gisele need no introduction.  Known for wearing her signature beach-inspired waves, her hair for the Met Gala was a polished version of her wavy style.  I like to think of it as beach hair with a "sophisticated twist". As with Emma's hair , this look can be created with the barrel curls , that are then set with pin-curls for hold.  This style calls for the hairdo® 21" 100% Human Hair Clip-In Extension , which already comes with a nice slight wave/ curl at the very tips of the piece , very reminiscent of the hairstyle Gisele wears above.  You can pin-curl the crown of your hair and then add this clip-in extension , and then release the pin curls and blend the hair together, place one side behind your ear as shown in the picture above.

There you have it ! The Best Hair from the 2011 Met Costume Institute Gala !!!
